Care Home Manager
Closing - 14 Oct 2024
About our care home-
Set in the beautiful Constable country of south Suffolk, Brett Vale Care Home is a Grade 2 listed barn conversion with a CQC rating of good. Brett Vale is home to 10 of our people with a learning disability. Set in extensive grounds the home provides peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery. We support our people to make the most of their environment whether it be helping with our 3 alpacas in the field, playing in the new games room, the art room, or soaking in the hot tub. Whilst we may be in the countryside, we make sure we get out and about, making the most of being only 5 miles from Hadleigh, with Ipswich and Colchester a short drive away.
Brett Vale fosters a family feel and approach. Many of the people we support have lived at our home for many years and are supported by a brilliantly committed, stable, and caring staff team.
About the role-
As a CQC registered manager you will be responsible for the operation of the care home, ensuring the service is of high quality and regulatory compliance is achieved.
You will be ambitious for our people, supporting them to their full potential, and ensure fulfilling, positive lives.
You will provide leadership and support to the staff team, upholding a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture.
You will ensure good oversight of the service, utilising a robust governance and audit structure.
You will form good relationships with people living at the home and their families. You will work effectively with external professionals to ensure the home is compliant and people’s needs are met in a timely and person-centred manner.
You will ensure the service is run efficiently, making responsible financial decisions, and managing the service’s budget.
What we can offer-
Plenty of support from a hands on senior management team who are willing to support and invest in your learning and development.
Flexible hours to suit a range of lifestyles.
Performance related bonus up to £3,000
35 days leave, including bank holidays
Nest pension
About you-
We are looking for a passionate and proactive manager who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of the people we support. You will have a good understanding of what good quality care looks like, and you will have a creative and innovative approach to support this.
With plenty of experience working with children and/or adults with a learning disability, you will feel confident supporting distressed and/or communicating behaviours.
You will either have your Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care or be willing to work towards achieving this with our support.
You will have strong leadership and communication skills.
You will be able to work on your own initiative, manage your own time, and be committed to continuous improvement.
In social care no two days are the same, so you need to be able to adapt quickly, prioritise tasks, work efficiently and flexibly to give support where it’s needed.
Your values and passion for making a difference in people’s lives is just as important to us as your experience and qualifications. You may be a social worker, a nurse, or teacher looking for a change, a deputy manager looking to progress their career, or an existing care home manager ready for a new opportunity. If you are interested in the job we’d love to have an initial informal chat.
