Job description

Orion Healthcare is a small company responsible for Cedar Lodge which is a residential setting for 25 adults with age-related illness. The home is set in a peaceful countryside position and provides a homely, comfortable family like environment. The emphasis within the home is that staff encourage and support and assist residents to maintain their independence and exercise their right to make choices and decisions themselves while also assisting and promoting healthy caring relationships between all members of the home. This entails working harmoniously as a team member and promoting high standards of care.

The duties of the carer will include but are not restricted to:

Continence care
Safety
Personal care
Observations of physical and emotional needs
Medication administration
Assisting with meals
Following care plans
Attending two-monthly staff meetings
Attending all staff training
Ensuring all hygiene regulations are being adhered to
Activities with the residents
JOB SUMMARY

The following job description is considered to be an intricate part of the contract of employment.

These conditions and job description can be varied by agreement, or where legislation necessitates, at the sole discretion of the directors.

If the case arises where agreement cannot be reached, the decision of the manager/director will be binding and final with the legislative period of 3 months notice given when appropriate.

To promote, support and maintain resident’s personal care and general physical health
To immediately report any suspicions or evidence you have of any form of abuse to any person in the home to a senior member of staff or manager.

JOB CONTENT

To ensure that proper standards, either statutory or as set out by Cedar Lodge are maintained: Please refer to the Statement of Purpose and Aims and Objectives; legislation; the Care Standards Act; and Cedar Lodges’ policies and procedures. The literature is in the office and you will have been directed and given explanation of this during your induction process.

To be responsible for health and safety in accordance with the Health and Safety regulations. To read and comply with all Health & safety policies and procedures as laid out within the home and to attend any training provided in Health & safety matters.

Hourly rate of pay is £10.30 per hour with a 50% increase per hour on bank holidays.
