Orwell Mencap is looking for full time, part time and relief support workers to help us support our customers at our day centre, social clubs and domiciliary services for adults and young people across Ipswich. Our support workers must be patient and versatile and be willing to support our customers in all their chosen activities. This could be any number of things from art, to cooking, to drumming or merely socialising with our customers’ friends and will require working alone and as part of a team. When necessary, they will also be required to provide dignified, personal care and to support our customers using wheelchairs.
We believe that life skills are a sound foundation for this role but fully paid training will be provided to assist staff to carry out the role efficiently and effectively.
It is hoped that as Covid restrictions are released we will be able to offer increased and fixed hours to those staff who want them.
