Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk
Support Worker: £9.50/hr. Day shift cover is paid at £10/hr and weekend night shift cover is paid at £15/hr.
Full-Time: 36 hours and Part-Time: 18 hours positions available
The post will require flexibility to complete varied shifts throughout the day, weekends, bank holidays and includes lone waking-night shifts. The shift pattern is over a 4-week rolling rota.
The role:
You will be joining a team which supports 5 adults with a mental health diagnosis. Our aim is to give the people you will be supporting as much control over their own lives as possible.
This is a responsible and varied role which can be challenging and is extremely rewarding. The job is all about giving vulnerable people encouragement, guidance and support so they can live as independently as possible and have the freedom to make their own choices.
On a daily basis:
You will be involved in supporting people with the following activities:
• Attending doctor’s/hospital appointments
• Shopping and socialising
• Managing finances
• Cooking and baking
• Cleaning
About you:
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, however more important to us are the values and skills that you hold – initiative, patience and understanding together with a genuine enthusiasm for wanting to enable people to have a meaningful life.
Your natural attributes will be to have the compassion and integrity to treat people with dignity and respect and to be person centred in all aspects of your role. Especially important is the ability to put the needs of very complex people first.
