Weekend Assistant Cook Part Time Montague Road, Felixstowe

£11.05 per hour, 16 hours per week – Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm

Our Cooks will enjoy steady hours with no split-shifts compared to other areas of the catering world, which may be a good choice if you have a family to consider or you don’t necessarily want to be working late nights. We’re seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team at Montague Road and prepare delicious, nutritious food for our residents who enjoy mealtimes as a highlight of their day. From a full English breakfast to jam roly-poly, we pride ourselves on offering a high standard of home-cooked food for a variety of diets that might require blended options, soft options, or other adjustments for special health requirements. Whilst being hands-on in the kitchen, you’ll also be competent at placing orders and completing paperwork and occasionally willing to get involved in stock taking. We have the top score from the Food Standards Agency for cleanliness, food safety, and handling and you’ll be expected to help us uphold our five-star rating. Sanctuary Supported Living provides a comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. We also have a great employee reward and wellbeing scheme, which supports physical, mental, and financial health. This position would also suit a Line Cook, Chef, Assistant Chef or Commis Chef.

 

The Role –

Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents – Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards – Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard – Assisting with the supervision and development of staff

 

Skills & Experience –

Previous experience of working in a catering environment – A valid food hygiene certificate is essential – NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering – Proven knowledge of health and safety procedures – Excellent cooking skills with an understanding of produce and ingredients – Good interpersonal and customer care skills
