Project Worker Langley Close, Felixstowe £11.52 per hour, 37.5 hour per week – rolling varied rota, to include occasional weekends and bank holiday between 8am and 8pm

If this sounds like you, we have a new, exciting, opportunity for an experienced Project Worker with passion and drive to provide high quality, person centred, support and encourage our young people to develop the skills necessary for independent living. Located within walking distance of Felixstowe town centre, our supported living service at Langley Close provides accommodation and support for those who are aged 16 to 24, and homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all. The Role –

Regularly assessing the needs of clients by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment – Supporting clients in their day to day living i.e with cooking and cleaning – Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions – Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits – Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem – Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required – Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks.

 

Skills & Experience –

Previous experience of working with vulnerable people – A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management, and an understanding of occupancy agreements – Experience and knowledge with housing tenancy law, housing benefit reform and rents and/or income would be desirable – The ability to work on your own initiative and react effectively under pressure – Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar – Good interpersonal, communication and customer care skills – NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
